A TRIBUTE TO OUR HISTORY

If you’d never set foot BEHIND THE BLUE DOOR, you’d be forgiven for thinking ‘Finney Isles’ sounds like an Irish Pub. But a little known fact is, ‘Finney Isles & Co’ holds a huge place in Brisbane history. Founded by Thomas Finney & James Isles, ‘Finney’s’ was well known in our Ann St location in the mid to late 1800’s as Brisbane’s ‘go to’ drapery for fashion textiles, before later expanding to build the iconic Queen St Mall building we now know as the ‘David Jones Building’.

These days, we’d like to think we’re more famous for a good drop than fine fabrics, but we think our name tribute to our location’s history is pretty cool!
